Winter Training has begun..

Winter training spins have begun. Leaving Teach na Teamhrach Navan at 9:30am sharp.! The group will do around 3 hours @ 27-29k/h. Everyone is welcome to tag along and we always keep the pace steady and give people the chance to ride safely in a group. Today we had 14 riders taking part, and i’m sure we will have a few more over the next few weeks……see you there.

You might even see some interesting choices of head-wear like this one.
But more importantly the key items are:
  • Mudguards..!!!!!…please use them.
  • Warm clothing, and perhaps a rain jacket.
  • Winter gloves
  • High-viz clothing….and/or….front+rear lights for those dark mornings.

Winter League and Club Championships 2012

After another hard-fought Winter league we have a new champion in Vivian Dunphy. With a variety of road races, a hill-climb, and a time-trial the eventual winner had to fight hard each week to stay on top. Well done to Vivian and all those who competed.

The final week of the Winter league also doubled up as the Club Championships. Pat Doocey was last years winner, and he had kept a low profile in the run-up to the race, but he was in no mood to relinquish his title.! Displaying his legendary sprinting power he blasted clear in the final metres, and was a comfortable and worthy winner.

Hill-Climb champion for 2012 was Ger Dunne*
