The 2012 winter league will run for 4 weeks, each Sunday morning from 21st October until 11th November and will once again culminate in the club championships. This year we will run a variety of different disciplines including road races,a time-trial, and another hill climb.!…so the winner will have to be a good all-rounder for sure. All races will be based from Cannistown National School, with races starting at 11am each morning, so get there early….
Last years champion Pat Doocey (pictured above) will be out in force to defend his League and Championship titles…….can he make it two years in a row? Well, judging by the emergence of some new club talents during the summer league it looks like this years racing will be more competitive than ever. All participants are required to hold a ‘club competition’ Cycling Ireland licence, or if not we will be able to facilitate a one-day licence (10 euros ). Entry fee for each race is 2euros.
Schedule for the League is ;
Week 1 = Road race , 4 laps.
Week 2 = Hill climb , Tara 2km
Week 3 = Time-trial , 10miles
Week 4 = Road race / Club Championships , 5 laps.
